Off to Florida

Olivier, Liz and several training horses will be leaving for Florida next week.

Saturday, October 3, 2009

After many months of jumping through hoops and getting all of the requisites in line, Olivier has achieved the status "aangewezen". This means that he has everything desired in an approved KWPN stallion, but he still needs to go to the five day character test and show ten offspring.

First CDI of 2009 Saugerties

Olivier won the CDI GP Special at Saugerties. Despite the 93 degree heat and an error of the course, he won handily with a 66.9%

He was 4th in the CDI GP. A small mistake in the two-tempis lost enough points to put him out of first place.

We are very pleased to have him back and doing so well in the international arena.

GMHA 2

Olivier won the FEI Freestyle class at GMHA. Several people came up to Elisabeth or me and told us that the ride brought tears to their eyes.

Friday, July 17, 2009

Olivier has had 100% premium foals from the GOV this season.
I have added a slideshow of Olivier's offspring. http://imajica.net/Gallery/gallery/index.html

It is really very clear how much he passes his powerful hindleg on.

Offspring news

Congratulations to Willow May (6), owned and ridden by Alice Joy, for finishing well in their first preliminary level event at Huntington Farm.
She finished on her dressage score at Stonleigh Burnham HT at training level.

Olivier offspring were competing at GMHA dressage:

On a Whim 2nd place, T-4 66%
Optimistic 4th place, T-1, 62% (first horse show)
Ole, a three year old, behaved well in his first outing, 2nd place in an Intro class.

GMHA, King Oak and earlier shows.

GMHA

74.78% in the Grand Prix.

A clean, lovely test.

So far, this year, Olivier has won the FEI high score award at three out of the four national shows in which he has competed.

KING OAK

There were a few uncharacteristic errors in the Grand Prix on Saturday, perhaps due to the fact that the rider had pneumonia. The score was still good enough to win the class and be the high score FEI.

Sunday brought a better test, still with a few unexpected blips. Another good score, and another high score ribbon.
